The City of Covington Human Resource Department is responsible for the administration of the city's personnel system and all related functions. The Human Resource Department is located on the ground floor of Covington City Hall. They can be reached by phone (901) 476-9613.

The City of Covington Human Resource Department We are committed to attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse and competent workforce that enables the City to operate efficiently.

There are thirteen departments/divisions in the city with various levels of employment. The Human Resource Department works collaboratively with each department in the administration of human resource policies and procedures.

The City of Covington currently has 137 full-time employees and also hires numerous part-time/seasonal workers.

The areas of responsibility of the Human Resource Department include:

Recruitment, training, application process, selection, orientation of new employees
Personnel Administration
Payroll Processing
Classification and compensation administration
Administration of all employee benefits
Workers Compensation
Organizing and Planning special events for employees
