The
mission of the Covington Fire Department is to
continue to strive to provide the best possible fire
protection and emergency medical services for the
citizens of Covington. Our members are a group of
highly skilled, trained, and experienced
professionals who are dedicated to protect life,
property, and the environment from fire and related
disasters and provide the highest quality of
emergency medical service care to its citizens.
To best achieve our mission, the
Covington Fire Department is committed to:

emergency response for fire, rescue, and medical
calls.
* provide public education and
awareness and actively participate in the community
to provide for the
safety and well being of the people who live and
work in Covington.
* provide the members of
the Covington Fire Department with the highest
quality of training and education.

which includes Fire Investigation, Fire Prevention,
Code Enforcement, Plan Reviews, and Fire and Rescue
Apparatus and Station Maintenance.

the mental and physical well being of the members of
the Covington Fire Department.

South Fire Station
The Covington Fire Department takes
great pride in both its rich history and its
progressive future while constantly striving to
increase the efficiency and quality of service to
the citizens of Covington, Tennessee.
The
City of Covington is located in the beautiful
flatlands of West Tennessee. Covington is 35 miles
north of Memphis, 48 miles west of Jackson and 40
miles south of Dyersburg..
The Covington Fire Department is a
career department with 21members consisting of the
Fire Chief, 1 Administrative Assistant, 3 Captains,
3 Drivers, 1 Training Officer, 3 Arson
Investigators, 1 Fire Inspector, and 9 Firefighter /
EMT's. All personnel are cross-trained for
both fire suppression, EMS and rescue.
The Covington Fire Department
operates from 2 Fire Stations, 3 Pumper Trucks, 1
Aerial Tower, 1 Rescue Truck, 1 Brush Truck, 1
Tanker, 3 Utility Vehicles, 1 Command Unit and a
Level III Hazmat Unit that covers all of Tipton
county and surrounding counties.
The Fire
Prevention Bureau provides fire investigations, fire
inspections, code enforcement, plan reviews, and
public education.
The Training Division works
in cooperation with the Tennessee Fire and Rescue
Institute and is a member of the Tennessee Council
of Fire and Rescue Academies.
The goal of the
Covington Fire Department is to provide the best
possible fire, rescue, and emergency medical
services to our customers.
